THE PHOENIX FILM FOUNDATION

The Phoenix Film Foundation, a 501(c)3 non profit organization, is helping to foster Arizona’s growth in the visual arts with local programs and international acclaim. With multiple arts organizations covered under the foundation’s umbrella, the Phoenix Film Foundation has programs covering the entire cinematic lifecycle - education, professional enrichment, film showcases, and film criticism - all with the purpose of supporting and developing the artistic appreciation, educational opportunities and growth of independent film within Arizona.

MISSION

The Phoenix Film Foundation is dedicated to promoting diversity and education in the arts, elevating underrepresented voices, and driving the growth of independent film in Arizona. Through film showcases and accessible educational initiatives, we cultivate a vibrant, inclusive cinematic community, utilizing it as a catalyst for personal growth, creative expression, and positive social change.

VISION

The Phoenix Film Foundation believes that through the art of film, simple, well-told stories that come from a place of authenticity have the power to elevate the human spirit, break through social and cultural barriers, inspire creativity in people of all ages, and provide a shared communal experience which brings us all closer together.

IFP PHOENIX

IFP Phoenix (Independent Feature Project Phoenix) supports and develops the growth of independent filmmaking in Arizona through education, networking, exhibition, and filmmaking opportunities. Our goal is to facilitate connections in the Arizona filmmaking community.

IFP Phoenix is a program of the Phoenix Film Foundation and sibling organization to the Phoenix Film Festival, International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival, Arizona Student Film Festival, Peoria Film Fest, Phoenix Critics Circle, and the Phoenix Film Society.

WHAT WE DO

Making a movie is hard. IFP Phoenix can help!

Our annual Filmmaker Challenges give you an opportunity to get out and make a film, and see it play on the big screen.

You can meet other local film industry folks and learn more about all aspects of filmmaking at our quarterly Filmmaker Forum Event.

If you have already made a film, you can show it at the quarterly Screening Lab meeting to get feedback from other filmmakers in the community.

We also partner each year with the Phoenix Film Festival to put on education programs and seminars throughout the Festival.

WHO WE ARE

We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers who have a passion for helping independent filmmakers get their films made, building the audience for independent film, and increasing diversity in the film industry. Our office is in Phoenix, Arizona but we proudly work to build community throughout the state of Arizona.
