FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN

How I Made It is a new quarterly series from the Phoenix Film Foundation and IFP Phoenix that will show audiences how a filmmaker gets from an idea to a finished product. We will take a deep dive into their inspiration, preparation, and execution of the filmmaking process. You’ll get to see materials they used to plan the film. They’ll talk about the choices they had to make and the reasons they made them. They’ll even pull the curtain back on challenges they faced and how they handled them. The night will culminate with a viewing of the short film, as well as a Q&A session with the director so you can ask things you want to know about the process!

Up first is Sean Oliver and his film, Natural Promotion. A short film backed by the music of Danny Elfman about a down trodden worker who transforms and discovers his true purpose. In 2017 Oliver’s short film NATURAL PROMOTION was selected as a winner for the RABBIT & ROGUE FILM CHALLENGE, and was screened at the LA FILM FESTIVAL in front of Elfman himself and judges GUS VAN SANT and ROB MINKOFF.
