The 2017 Break Out Film Challenge is now open for registration!!
What is it?
Our break out film challenge is designed to get our filmmakers out into the world! We give away over 20 free film festival submissions every year to the winners!
***REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED***
At the kickoff, you will draw numbers to find out which mystery prop (up cycled from a local Goodwill store) you are assigned and which two lines of dialogue you have to choose from. The fun part? All the teams submit the lines of dialogue! Then you have one month to complete your film! (still debating adding one more wrinkle to the contest this time around)
What do you submit?
Each team will submit a film, no longer than 6 minutes (including credits), created using one of the two lines of dialogue and the prop provided at the kick off. Teams may also submit a trailer and a poster for additional prizes.
Why register?
- The first, second, and third prize films will win free film festival submissions! This can be a huge savings for filmmakers on top of a great way of getting your work into the world.
- The first prize film will be automatically selected to screen at the 2018 Phoenix Film Festival (which includes a FREE Filmmaker Pass to the Festival, with all the accompanying benefits, a $300 value each)
- All submitted films will screen at the awards ceremony
- Early registration is encouraged because with 6 minute films, we can only accept up to 20 teams!
